Strategic Commissioning Group
The Strategic Commissioning Group (SCG) ensures that the Cardiff Health Social Care & Well Being Strategy is developed, implemented and monitored in line with the agreed objectives of the commissioning authorities.
The SCG provides the commissioning authorities and the Health Alliance with evidence of changing need in health and social care and makes recommendations for short, medium and long-term service development and improvement.
The SCG directs, guides and monitors the work of the Advisory Planning Groups (APGs), in line with the aims and objectives of the Health, Social Care & Well Being Strategy, and the priorities of the Local Health Board and Council and ensures that all strategies, which fall within the responsibilities of SCG members, are consistent, co-ordinated and have transparent links. To achieve this coordination and consistency in strategic development, the SCG works in partnership with other strategic planning groups such as the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership, the Safer Capital Partnership and the Voluntary Sector Compact.
