Service User and Carer Involvement
The Strategic Commissioning Group (SCG) and Advisory Planning Groups (APGs) are committed to good practice in service user, carer and public engagement. The SCG has adopted a set of Basic Standards fro service user involvement, the guiding principles behind these standards are:
- Equalities: explicit and evidenced.
- Purpose: agreed, and success defined.
- Structures: clear and fit for purpose.
- Knowledge: shared and used.
- Skills: developed and applied.
- Capacity building: supports in place.
- Information: accurate and timely.
The Project Officer for Service User Involvement is working to develop specific representation under each APG, with occasional Service User Reference Panel meetings to develop cross cutting issues across service areas.
